2010 Petit Verdot- Spring Mountain District
Nearly black in color the Petit Verdot is thedarkest variety we work with. The aromatics match the color with blackberryfruit, mashed violets and dark licorice being most apparent on the nose. Trueto the variety there are strong underpinnings of minerality on the nose, including gravel and flint. Very viscous on the palate many strong flavorsstart to appear just before the tannins hit. Violets, cooking chocolate andcoffee are the most evident flavors. Make no mistake, this is a tannic wine. The acidity is present but the tannins run the palate. This wine will onlybenefit from a long period of aging, 18-22 years (2030-2034).
